Man being sought In Forest Hill assault

Harford County sheriff's deputies said yesterday that they are looking for the man who assaulted a 46-year-old Forest Hill woman last week. The man confronted the woman about 6:30 a.m. Feb. 18 when she went outside her home to start her car. Her boyfriend later found her lying on the ground. Emergency crews from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Department treated the woman for minor injuries at the scene in the 2400 block of Rocks Road and took her to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, police said. She has since been released. Anyone with information regarding the assault is asked to contact the Harford County sheriff's office Criminal Investigation Division at 410-836-5442. Harford County Crime Solvers, at 888-540-TIPS, is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Bel Air man charged in 2 bank robberies

A 22-year-old Bel Air man has been charged in the robberies of two Harford County banks, the county sheriff's office said yesterday. Andrew David Piche of the 300 block of Franklin St. was charged in the Feb. 9 robbery of Harford Bank in 2900 block of Emmorton Road, Abingdon, and Friday's robbery of Sovereign Bank in the 1800 block of Emmorton Road, Bel Air. In each case, a man gave a note to a teller stating that he had a gun and then left with an undisclosed amount of money, the authorities said. Piche was charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of possession of a handgun in commission of a felony and two counts of theft over $500. He was being held at the county detention center; a bond review was scheduled for today.
