World No. 1 Rafael Nadal could not overcome a knee injury in the final of the ABN Amro tournament in Rotterdam, Netherlands, losing to Andy Murray, 6-3, 4-6, 6-0. Murray, seeded second, became the first British winner of the ATP event. Nadal, the Australian Open champion, was bothered by a right knee injury and had to call a medical timeout in the second set before deciding to continue the match. "On one leg he could still go on," Murray said. "That's how good he is."

Bills' Lynch arrested on gun-possession charges

Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested last week on felony gun-possession charges in Culver City, Calif. In a statement released yesterday, police said they found Lynch and two other men in a 2006 Mercedes-Benz and discovered a loaded gun belonging to Lynch. Lynch was released on a $35,000 bond less than two hours after his arrest. Lynch's lawyer, M. Gerald Schwartzbach, said his client was not involved in a traffic accident and was in California visiting friends. Lynch last summer reached a plea deal regarding a hit-and-run in Buffalo after his sport utility vehicle struck a woman and sped away.
Pebble Beach play halted for weather until today

Raging wind that toppled a 40-foot pine and rain that formed puddles on the green forced the PGA Tour to postpone the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach (Calif.) National Pro-Am, giving it a Monday finish for the first time since 2000. Tee times were pushed back six hours until another band of rain arrived on the Monterey Peninsula. No one teed off, and there is no guarantee that the final round will be played today, when the forecast is for more rain and wind. Dustin Johnson had a four-shot lead.
Champions Allianz Championship: : Mike Goodes shot a 6-under-par 66 in Boca Raton, Fla., to win his first career Champions Tour title. Goodes (15-under 201) beat practice partner Fulton Allem by one stroke.
