Negotiators seek to reconcile versions of stimulus plan

February 11, 2009

What happened Senate and House negotiators began reconciling versions of the stimulus plan after only three Republicans joined Senate Democrats in approving an $838 billion economic package. Congress hopes to send a measure to President Barack Obama by the end of the week.

What's next The House and Senate will work out compromises over differences in their bills. The House version would cost about $19 billion less.
