Paul Arthur Greene, insurance salesman

Paul Arthur Greene, a retired insurance salesman and former Lochearn resident, died Feb. 3 of complications after surgery at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach, Fla. He was 83.

Mr. Greene was born in Baltimore and raised near Druid Hill Park. After graduating from Forest Park High School in 1943, he joined the Merchant Marine and served in the Pacific.

He served as an Army artillery instructor during the Korean War.

Mr. Greene worked for a liquor distributor before going to work selling insurance for the Sun Insurance Co. and later United Insurance. He retired in the early 1990s.

He enjoyed barbecues, family gatherings and visiting Atlantic City and the Catskills, said his daughter, Stacey W. Greene of West Palm Beach, Fla.

Mr. Greene had lived in Boynton Beach for the past 15 years and was a former member of the Rogers Avenue Synagogue.

Services were Sunday in Delray Beach, Fla.

Also surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former Sylvia Shall; and a son, David S. Greene of Baltimore.
