Writers conference
Chesapeake College will host the Bay to Ocean Writers Conference from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 21 in Wye Mills.
The conference will feature 17 speakers covering the craft and the business of writing.
Hollywood screenwriter Thomas Sawyer, Pulitzer-nominated poet Sue Ellen Thompson and nationally acclaimed novelists, regional publishers and a literary agent will help writers enhance their skills.

The Severn River Lions Club is holding a citrus fruit sale to support community projects.
Available fruits are: seedless ruby red grapefruit, 2/5 bushel for $17, or 4/5 bushel for $30; seedless navel oranges, 2/5 bushel for $17; or mixed oranges and grapefruit, 2/5 bushel for $18.
Deadline for orders is Saturday. Pickup is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 21 at Severna Park High School. Any remaining fruit will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis until 2 p.m.
