The teams entered the game with a combined record of 19-73 - and the game lived down to expectations. Los Angeles committed a season-high 25 turnovers - 10 in the first quarter alone. Caron Butler added 16 points and had 12 rebounds and seven assists for the Wizards (10-37). Eric Gordon scored 25 for Los Angeles (10-37), which has lost five straight and 18 of 20. Three of Washington's victories have come against fellow doormats: the Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder and Sacramento Kings, who have combined for 31 wins.
Spurs 106, Hornets 93: : Tony Parker prevailed in a clash of All-Star point guards, scoring 25 points and stretching host San Antonio's Southwest Division lead over Chris Paul and New Orleans (28-16) to three games. Paul scored 38 on 15-for-22 shooting, including five three-pointers. Manu Ginobili added 22 points for the Spurs (32-14).
Mavericks 111, Heat 96: : Dirk Nowitzki scored 30 points as visiting Dallas beat Miami for the ninth straight time in the regular season dating to March 26, 2004. The Mavericks (27-19) shot a season-best 60 percent. Dwyane Wade scored 30 points for Miami (25-21), which lost for the second straight night.
Lakers 115, Grizzlies 98: : Kobe Bryant scored 25 points, Pau Gasol had 24 points and eight rebounds, and visiting Los Angeles beat Memphis, extending the Grizzlies' losing streak to 12 games. Rudy Gay (Archbishop Spalding) had 23 points for Memphis (11-35). The Lakers (37-9) lost center Andrew Bynum to a sprained right knee in the first quarter. X-rays were negative and further tests will be done today in New York.
Nets 85, 76ers 83: : Brook Lopez had 24 points and 17 rebounds to help New Jersey take advantage of host Philadelphia's fourth-quarter collapse. The Sixers (23-23) led by 12 early in the fourth, then went the final 10:37 without a basket. The Nets (21-27) won without Vince Carter, who sprained his right ankle in the second half.
Bulls 122, Suns 111: : Ben Gordon and Derrick Rose each scored 26 points, and visiting Chicago (21-27) won its third straight game, a day after chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said he has been tempted to stand up and boo his team, calling this season "a disaster" and "embarrassing." Leandro Barbosa led the Suns (25-20) with 32 points.
