It took a lot to overshadow a rare Atlantic Coast Conference matchup of brothers, both of whom had a double double.

Iman Shumpert found a way.

The freshman hit a pull-up jumper with one second remaining to lift Georgia Tech to its first Atlantic Coast Conference win, a 76-74 upset of No. 6 Wake Forest yesterday in Atlanta.

Shumpert had only five points before tying the score on a basket with 20 seconds remaining and then hitting his winning shot.

Wake Forest committed two turnovers in the final 35 seconds and lost to the ACC's last-place team only three days after beating top-ranked Duke.

Georgia Tech senior Alade Aminu had 10 points, 13 rebounds and a career-high six blocks, and younger brother Al-Farouq Aminu led Wake Forest with 17 points, 11 rebounds and five steals.

The last-second drama stole the spotlight from only the second matchup of brothers on opposing teams in ACC history. On Jan. 3, 1969, Wake Forest's Jerry Montgomery faced his brother Roger of Maryland in a game won by the Demon Deacons.

Gani Lawal had 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets (10-10, 1-6).

Jeff Teague had 16 points for Wake Forest (17-2, 4-2).

No. 5 North Carolina 93, North Carolina State 76:: Tyler Hansbrough scored 31 points to help the visiting Tar Heels (19-2, 5-2) defeat the Wolfpack (11-8, 2-5).

Boston College 67, Virginia Tech 66:: Rakim Sanders scored the winning basket on a put-back with 0.4 of a second left as the host Eagles (17-6, 5-3) beat the Hokies (14-7, 4-3).

Delaware State sent the game into overtime when Alexis Abraham hit a three-pointer with 1.8 seconds remaining. It was her only basket.

Whitney Cunningham's two free throws with 12 seconds left gave Coppin (6-12, 5-3) a 49-46 lead.

The Hornets (10-10, 6-1) were led by Sonia Johnson, who scored 15 points.

Lakeytah Irving scored 12 points for Coppin.

UMES 67, MORGAN STATE 58:: April McBride scored 29 points as the Lady Hawks (9-9, 5-2 MEAC) beat the visiting Lady Bears (13-7, 5-3).
