LANDOVER - Another year, another sweep for Meade.

The Mustangs pulled off a third consecutive sweep at the Anne Arundel County indoor track and field championships last night at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Center.

Meade's girls finished with 137 points, taking a big early lead and never looking back, beating Chesapeake (100). The Mustangs have won three straight county titles.

The Mustangs boys (114) won three late events to pull away from No. 7 Chesapeake (84). Meade lost its top four scorers from last year, but coach Nigel Holder's team again found points from all over the place and won a fourth straight crown.

"For the program, it means we are right where we need to be," Holder said. "The girls and boys just put on a show."

Aaron Wiliams led the boys by winning the 55 (6.64 seconds) and 300 meters (35.64). Derek Holland took the triple jump (41 feet, 2.5 inches). Christian White captured the 500 (1:08.15), and Tuswani Copeland won the long jump (19-9).

The 800 relay team scored a crucial victory late in the meet, winning in 1:33.00, giving the Mustangs breathing room over Chesapeake.

Meade closed it out by winning the 1,600 relay minutes later. Williams, White anad Teldrick Morgan ran on both relays, while Copeland (800) and Shane Johnson (1,600) filled in the other spots.

Lauren Hunt won the 55-meter dash (7.45) and the 55 hurdles (8.73) to help the Mustang girls take control quickly.

Anna Grimes won the 3,200 (12:04.06). Lauren Lovejoy took the long jump (16-3) and also ran on the 800 relay team that broke the meet record (1:46.87). Kiera Joyner, Ashley Garner and Amber Sutherland helped on that relay.

Michaela Washington, Kari McPartland, Devin Brooks and Jasmine Martin teamed up to take the 3,200 relay in 10:02.87.
