Clemson rallies, beats Va. Tech

K.C. Rivers hit seven three-pointers and scored 29 points last night, and No. 12 Clemson (18-2, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) rallied from a 15-point deficit in the second half to beat Virginia Tech, 86-82.

Malcolm Delaney (Towson Catholic) had a career-high 37 points for host Virginia Tech (14-6, 4-2).

ACC women

No. 18 Florida State 82, No. 3 Duke 72, OT: : Mara Freshour scored a season-high 21 points, and the host Seminoles (18-4, 6-0) won their ninth straight, ended the Blue Devils' 15-game winning streak and grabbed sole possession of first place in the ACC.

Jasmine Thomas led Duke (17-2, 5-1) with 16 points.

State men

Mount St. Mary's 60, Quinnipiac 42: : Jeremy Goode led all scorers with 19 points to pace the visiting Mount (12-9, 7-3 Northeast) to its seventh straight win.

Bowie State 61, St. Augustine's 59: : Chris Jordan swished a deep three-pointer with 13 seconds left to lift the visiting Falcons (15-6, 8-4 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association) to a victory.

Frostburg State 71, Pittsburgh-Greensburg 45: : Brian Anderson led all scorers with 15 points as visiting Frostburg (10-8, 7-4 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate) held Pitt.-Greensburg (5-13, 4-7) to 26 percent from the field.

St. Mary's 114, Stevenson 80: : The host Seahawks (14-4, 7-2 Capital Athletic), led by Camontae Griffin with 23 points, scored more than 50 points in each half to beat the Mustangs (4-14, 3-6).

Greg Woody scored a game-high 30 for Stevenson.

State women

Towson 61, James Madison 51: : Shanae Baker-Brice scored 20 points to power the host Tigers (12-6, 6-2 Colonial Athletic) past the Dukes (13-65, 6-2).

Longwood 58, Mount St. Mary's 54: : The host Lancers (6-11) went on a 17-4 run in the second half. Hassanah Oliver paced the Mount (7-12) with 17 points, and Brianna Gauthier (St. Mary's) had nine.

Bowie State 66, St. Augustine's 62: : Denisha Kenion scored a career-high 23 points to power the host Bulldogs (9-9, 8-3 CIAA) past the Falcons (10-9, 5-7).

Pittsburgh-Greensburg 62, Frostburg State 59: : Brittany James (Milford Mill) had 17 points and 13 rebounds in a losing effort for visiting Frostburg (10-8, 7-4 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate).

St. Mary's 44, Stevenson 37: : Jamie Roberts scored 13 points to lead the host Seahawks (6-11, 4-5 Capital Athletic) past the Mustangs (4-14, 2-7).

Breonna Brewer and Tara Galvin each scored seven points for Stevenson.

Neumann 74, College of Notre Dame 55: : India Scott recorded her third double double (10 points, 10 rebounds) in a losing effort for the host Gators (7-8, 4-4 Colonial States Athletic).
