Spalding girls' run ends at 10

The No. 4 Seton Keough girls used a balanced scoring attack and went on a fourth-quarter run to beat No. 7 Archbishop Spalding, 48-41, last night.

The loss ended a 10-game winning streak for the host Cavaliers (15-4), who were led by Maggie Morrison with 14 points.

The Gators (15-6), who went on an 18-10 run in the fourth, were led by Asya Bussie with nine points, Achiri Ade, Katelyn Fischer and Amber Singletary each had eight.

After trailing by four at the half, Spalding had a 12-7 run in the third quarter to take a 31-30 lead.

Fallston 50, C. Milton Wright 34: : Monica Fischer scored 10 points to lead the host Cougars past the Mustangs.


No. 1 River Hill 42, Hereford 16: : The Hawks (23-1) won 10 of 14 matches, including three by pins.

River Hill bounced back after its first loss of the season, a 31-24 setback to Old Mill on Wednesday.

Nick Oliver, Jake Pace and Isa Mohamed won by pins for the Hawks.

Two-time state champion Scott Mantua (112) is 24-0.
