JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Ryan Bacon made an acrobatic layup with 3.5 seconds left yesterday to lift Saint Peter's to a 61-59 victory over Loyola. The Greyhounds (5-12, 1-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) lost their third straight game. Jamal Barney scored 16 of his 21 points in the second half for Loyola, which trailed 44-34 with 12:21 remaining. Nick Leon led Saint Peter's (5-11, 2-4) with 17 points, and Bacon added 16 points and 11 rebounds. The Peacocks ended a four-game losing streak. Loyola's Anthony Winbush made two free throws to tie the score at 59 with 35.5 seconds left. Saint Peter's then worked the ball to Bacon, who maneuvered around a defender and banked it in.
