Dance, cheer coaches sought

Free bridge : The Kiwanis-Wallas Recreation Center, 10481 Frederick Road, sponsors a bridge group from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays; a pinochle group meets from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.

Those who attend are invited to take a lunch. Coffee, tea and treats will be provided. Donations are accepted for the snack fund. Duplicate bridge is available from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fridays.

Rec center : Mah-jongg is played at the Kiwanis-Wallas Recreation Center, 10481 Frederick Road, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Free.

A community service group meets to knit and crochet blankets, baby clothes and other items for charities, hospitals and senior centers from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at the Kiwanis-Wallas center. 410-313-7279.

Chess : The Elkridge library, 6540 Washington Blvd., sponsors a chess club for ages 13 and older from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Players of all abilities are welcome, but they must know how to play chess. Snacks will be provided. 410-313-5077.

Learning English : The Miller branch library offers an English conversation club from 7:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Wednesdays for people who speak English as a second language and would like to practice conversation in a group setting. First-time participants must register in advance. 410-313-1950.
