A native of Sandtown, she was known as "Cissy". She enlisted in the first unit of Colored women in the U.S. Army and received an Honorable Discharge. She once owned two beauty shops in Baltimore as she was a master beautician. She has been a faithful daughter of the African Methodist Episcopal Church for many years, including St. John and Payne Memorial. Death occurred on December 24, 2008, at age 91, in Birmingham, Alabama. Cherished memories remain in the heart of a beloved daughter, Rev. Dr. Patricia A. Outlaw and other relatives. Wake is 10:00 A.M. Friday and Homegoing Celebration is 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Calvary A.M.E., 300 Eudowood Lane, Towson. Rev. Dr. A.F. Lightner-Fuller, Officiant. Rt. Rev. J.R. Bryant, Eulogist. Inhumation will take place at Garrison Forest Cemetery on January 7, 2009.
