Del. man is arrested in Edgewood carjacking

A Wilmington, Del., man has been arrested after a carjacking of an Edgewood man Tuesday night, according to the Harford County sheriff's office. Michael Lamar Nelson, 17, of the 300 block of 25th St., was charged as an adult with armed carjacking, robbery, second-degree assault and other charges, deputies said. He remains in custody at the Harford County Detention Center. Deputies responded to a report of a carjacking in the 2000 block of Starr St. about 11 p.m. Deputies said the victim was walking to his home from his gray 2004 Chevy Aveo when he was approached by a man who brandished a knife, took his keys, wallet and cell phone, and drove away in the Aveo. About 12:30 a.m. yesterday, a deputy spotted the stolen vehicle in a parking lot of a Walgreens drugstore in the 3000 block of Emmorton Road, Abingdon. The deputy observed the suspect enter the store. Nelson had stolen property in his possession, deputies said.
