Kaleo Kina hit a pair of free throws with 7.3 seconds to play to give Navy an 81-80 victory over Longwood last night.

The Lancers (6-8) had gone ahead 80-79 on a basket by Kevin Swecker with 11 seconds to play, wiping out a seven-point Navy (9-4) lead with 2:41 to play.

After Swecker's basket, Kina drove the lane and was fouled by Billy Robinson.

Saint Louis 81, UMBC 60:: Tommie Liddell III had 19 points and six assists, helping the Billikens beat the Retrivers for their sixth straight victory at home. Freshman Willie Reed added a career-high 18 points while hitting all seven of his field-goal attempts for the Billikens (8-5), who are 7-1 at the new Chaifetz Arena, with the lone loss in overtime to Kent State.

Coppin State 57, George Washington 53:: Tywain McKee led all scorers with 16 points to lift the Eagles to a win over the Colonials in the seventh-place game of Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic in Honolulu. The Eagles (2-10) ended a 10-game losing streak while the Colonials (6-5) dropped their third straight game in Hawaii.

FROSTBURG STATE 87, LEBANON VALLEY 81:: Sophomore Brian Anderson (Eastern Tech) scored a career-high 31 points and the Bobcats (4-6) had four starters in double figures as they defeated the Dutchmen (5-5) in the consolation game of the 2008 R-MC Coaches Classic.

Women

TOWSON 51, VERMONT 48:: Closing out the game with a 6-2 run, the Tigers edged the Catamounts in the third-place game of the State Farm Classic hosted by the University of Florida at O'Connell Center.

COPPIN STATE 62, ROBERT MORRIS 52:: Freshman Shinaa Cross scored a career-high 20 points,and senior Whitney Cunningham had 16 points and 13 rebounds as the Eagles (1-9) posted their first victory of the season in the Coppin Center.

UMES 68, MORGAN STATE 58:: Casey Morton had 18 points and eight rebounds to lead the visiting Hawks (2-6) over the Bears (8-3). Morton was 6-for-13 from the field, including 3-for-4 from three-point range. Theresa Davis had 19 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

CANISIUS 77, MOUNT ST. MARY'S 62:: The Golden Griffins (9-4) used the outside shot to take the advantage and then the inside game in the second half to maintain the lead and defeat the visiting Mountaineers (5-6) in nonconference game.
