Central Baltimore

Assault A man was arguing over paying a prostitute $20 while the pair sat in his car about 6 a.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Ave. when the man pulled out a knife and cut the woman, 26, in the back. The woman was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was expected to survive. No arrest had been made.

Carjacking A man was talking to a woman in the 1200 block of Eutaw Place about 2:30 a.m. Sunday when he was assaulted by four men, one with a handgun, who drove off in his 2002 cream-colored Cadillac with tags 2DC Z99.

Stolen vehicle A red two-door 1996 Chevrolet Lumina with tags 9BF H24 was stolen Sunday in the 800 block of N. Calvert St.

Theft Someone broke into a 1996 Honda Civic parked in the 1700 block of St. Paul St. Saturday or Sunday and stole three purses containing a total of $175, credit cards and other property. The purses were removed from the vehicle's trunk.

Burglary Someone broke into a house in the 900 block of St. Paul St. through a rear door Friday or Saturday and stole an antique marble fireplace mantel of unknown value.

Southeastern Baltimore

Burglary A 37-inch-screen TV valued at $750 was stolen over the weekend from a house in the 400 block of S. Patterson Park Ave. by someone who entered through a rear living room window.

Theft A navigational system and an iPod were stolen Sunday from a 2007 Hyundai Elantra parked in the 400 block of N. Belnord Ave.

Theft Someone broke into a vehicle parked in the 2500 block of E. Fairmount Ave. on Sunday and removed an iPod and its charger. Assault A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man, 38, charging him with assaulting his ex-girlfriend early Sunday at her home in the 200 block of S. Bouldin St. During an argument, the man struck the woman with his fists, causing minor injuries. His name was withheld pending arrest.

Robbery A woman, 28, was walking in the 400 block of S. Broadway about 3 a.m. Sunday when a man stole her purse.

Thefts An iPod, a laptop computer and a book bag, all valued at more than $1,500, were stolen Saturday from a 2002 Ford Focus parked in the 200 block of Lloyd St. On the same street the same day, a navigational system was stolen from a 2008 Ford Escape.

Eastern Baltimore

Theft Someone broke into a car parked in the 1100 block of Homewood Ave. over the weekend and stole a purse containing cash and other property.

Assault/arrest Two men were arguing in the 900 block of N. Broadway about 9 a.m. Saturday when one struck the other with a brick. Arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault was James Hunt, 45, of the first block of S. Broadway.

Assault Two men were attempting to repair a car in the 2700 block of E. Eager St. on Saturday afternoon when they became involved in an argument, during which one man stabbed the other with a knife. Charged with aggravated assault was Ty Wayne Jefferson, 48, of the 2700 block of Ashland Ave. The victim was not seriously hurt.
