Charles, the Huskies' standout center, totaled 17 points in her previous two games. She broke out against the Gamecocks, finishing with 14 rebounds and recording a double double in the first half.
No. 2 North Carolina 102, Western Michigan 55: : Italee Lucas scored 17 points and Jessica Breland added 15 to lead five Tar Heels in double figures and help North Carolina shake off the rust of an eight-day layoff with a victory over the visiting Broncos (4-8).
The Tar Heels (13-0) have 28 straight wins at home.
No. 4 Texas 79, Texas El-Paso 40:: Kathleen Nash scored 13 of her 15 points in the first half to help the Longhorns (11-0) rout the Miners (6-6) in the Surf 'N Slam Classic in San Diego.
No. 6 Duke 78, Quinnipiac 50: : Chante Black scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help the host Blue Devils defeat the Bobcats (8-3).
Black added three blocked shots and a career-high eight steals for Duke (10-1), becoming the sixth player in ACC history with 1,000 points, 800 rebounds and 200 blocked shots in a career.
No. 10 Louisville 66, Morehead State 38: : Angel McCoughtry (St. Frances) had 17 points and 12 rebounds to help the host Cardinals overcome a season-high 34 turnovers to win their seventh straight, a victory over the Eagles in the Cardinal Classic.
McCoughtry played 19 minutes against the overmatched Eagles (7-5). She scored Louisville's first 11 points as the Cardinals (11-1) needed just eight minutes to build a double-digit lead.
No. 11 Stanford 84, UC Davis 49: : Jayne Appel had 16 points and nine rebounds, and the host Cardinal (9-3) survived an off-day to beat the Aggies (4-6).
