On Wednesday, December 10, 2008, CARL CORDARA of Baltimore, passed away at Sudbrook Manor, the son of the late Bartholomew and Venturella Cordara. Mr. Cordara was born in Baltimore, MD, on August 19, 1923. He graduated from the University of Baltimore with a law degree in 1953. Mr. Cordara had is own law practice after which he continued to practice and then retiring from the Social Security Administration. For most of his life he was an avid member of the Italian American Civic Club of Maryland. He was the husband of 60 years to the late Peggy Blalock Cordara. He was a loving and devoted spouse, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his sons, Thomas Cordara of Walkersville, MD, Richard Cordara and wife Roberta of Abingdon, MD, Harry Cordara and wife Ginny of Abingdon, MD, his grandchildren, Elizabeth Cordara of Knightdale, NC, Mary Cordara of Canton, MI, Amy Cordara of Grand Rapids MI, Richard Cordara and wife Brooke of Jacksonville, FL, Adam Cordara of Abingdon, MD, Janine Cordara and fiance Michael Nunn of Selton, PA, Laura Clark and husband Michael of Abingdon, MD, Tricia Crisp and husband David of Aberdeen, MD, and Joe Cordara of Abingdon, MD; great-granddaughters Sophia and Olivia Cordara of Jacksonville, FL, a great-grandson Brayden Clark is expected in January. He is also survived by his half brother, Kenneth Gerlach of Maryland. Mr. Cordara's life will be honored on Saturday, December 13, at the family owned Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services- Bel Air, 3 Newport Drive (Forest Hill-Routes 23 & 24) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Italian American Civic Club of Maryland, 1214 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, MD, 21202.
