Player of the Year

Gigi Mangione, McDonogh

A two-time All-Metro first-team pick and repeat Baltimore County Player of the Year, Mangione brought strong leadership, a tireless approach and gifted skills that were difficult for any opponent to match. The senior midfielder closed out a stellar four-year career with 22 goals and 14 assists, leading the No. 2 Eagles to a 21-1-1 season and a second straight trip to the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference championship game. Mangione, who earned All-America status, is headed to Loyola next year.

Coach of the Year

Kim Williams, Eastern Tech

For a second straight year, Williams had her Mavericks (14-2-1) on the brink of a Class 2A state title, only to fall just short on penalty kicks to defending champion River Hill. With an experienced front line and a stingy defense that finished with 14 shutouts, the Mavericks were on a season-long mission to make a return trip to the state title game. Despite finding the same difficult result in the setback to River Hill, the Mavericks captured their third straight Baltimore County championship. In six years, Williams has won five county titles, reached the state tournament five times and won a state crown in 2005.
