Clinton's 15 help Spalding girls top McDonogh


Nuiriankh's 39 points lift Arundel boys past Severna Park

Jordan Clinton had a game-high 15 points to power host and No. 7 Archbishop Spalding over No. 15 McDonogh, 62-41, last night in Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference basketball.

Clinton made seven field goals and went 1-for-3 from the foul line.

No. 2 ARUNDEL 85, SEVERNA PARK 35: : Ashley Davis and Sharrone Vails each scored 21 points to power the visiting Wildcats (1-0) past the Falcons (0-1). Arundel built a 48-14 halftime lead and never trailed. Maddie Keating led Severna Park with nine points.

No. 3 SETON KEOUGH 77, Institute of Notre Dame 32: : Katelyn Fischer scored 16 points to power the host Gators (1-1) past the Indians. Seton Keough trailed 4-0 at the start before going on a 10-2 run.

No. 9 WINTERS MILL 52, NORTH CARROLL 35:: Taylor Vandegrift had 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Falcons (1-0) over the visiting Panthers (0-1). The senior also had six steals. Cassie Cooke added 18 points and 15 rebounds while dishing out eight assists.


ARUNDEL 77, SEVERNA PARK 54:: Auraum Nuiriankh made five three-pointers en route to scoring 39 points as the visiting Wildcats (1-0) defeated the Falcons (0-1). The senior forward scored 21 points in the second quarter as Arundel overcame an 18-12 deficit. Brendan Bald had 23 points and 10 rebounds for Severna Park.

NO. 4 JOHN CARROLL 85, PERRY HALL 32: : Isaiah Philmore scored 19 points to lead the host Patriots (4-0) past the Gators (0-1). Philmore, a Towson University-bound senior, scored all but six points in the first half.

NO. 10 MOUNT ST. JOSEPH 64, ST. JOHN'S-CATHOLIC PREP 50: : Eric Atkins had a game-high 23 points to power the Gaels (5-0) past the Vikings (3-1). Mount St. Joseph extended its 17-15 first-quarter lead to 12 at the half. The Gaels led by as many 14 points in the second half.

NORTH CARROLL 56, WINTERS MILL 29: : David Birnie and Andy Levy combined to score 22 points as the host Panthers (1-0) beat the Falcons (0-1). North Carroll trailed 2-0 at the start of the game and never again was behind.

LOYOLA 63, DULANEY 57:: Mike Fitzpatrick scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half as the host Dons (3-0) rallied from a five-point halftime deficit to defeat the Lions (0-1). Fitzpatrick was 8-for-10 from the free-throw line. Matt Rum led all scorers with 24.

MOUNT CARMEL 68, ARCHBISHOP CURLEY 60:: Vonzell Groom and Bilao Small each had 18 points as the visiting Cougars (1-2) defeated the Friars (1-4).
