Graham Bazell

* He's coming off a banner cross country season in which he set a record on the brutal Hereford course and also won the Class 3A state title. A foot injury kept Bazell out during most of last year's indoor season, but the senior is back and seemingly better than ever.

Jabulani Blyden

* Blyden has been a key contributor for the Greyhounds. He captured the MIAA crown in the 800 meters last winter, and the senior can get points for Gilman in relays and other events.

George Chambers

Archbishop Curley

* The versatile junior is proficient in sprints, hurdles and relays and has helped the Friars indoors and outdoors. Chambers won the MIAA title in the 300 last winter.

Anthony Drumgoole

Digital Harbor

* The senior played a big role in Digital Harbor's taking the Class 1A state title last winter. He won the 55 and 300 meters at the state meet after doing the same in the regionals.

Dorian Johnson

Mount St. Joseph

* He's one of the area's top performers in field events. The versatile senior won the triple and long jumps last winter to help the Gaels take the MIAA championship. Johnson did the same thing at the state private schools meet. He also can run sprints.

Michael Lynch

* Lynch flew under the radar a bit during cross country because he was on the same team as Bazell, but he finished second in the Howard County, regional and Class 3A state races to help the Raiders sweep all three. If the sophomore can run as well indoors, the Raiders will be tough to beat.

Brendan Morales

* He came out of nowhere to become one of the state's best in the shot put last winter. Morales took second in the state in Class 4A (51 feet, 8 inches), and the senior should be at the top again.

Zach Sullivan

Archbishop Spalding

* The senior dominated the private schools cross country season and should be one of the best indoors. The Cavaliers are relying on him to help them make a run at Mount St. Joseph.

Chris Swisko

Calvert Hall

* He led a pack of talented distance runners to help the Cardinals repeat as MIAA A Conference champions in cross country. The senior is consistent, especially in the big races.

Jake Zamostny

South Carroll

* The senior capped a standout cross country season with an impressive victory in the Class 1A state title race. He can help the Cavaliers this winter as they run in the tough Monocacy Valley Athletic League.
