Funmi Alabi

Long Reach

* The question is what the senior can do for an encore after setting a meet record at the state championships last year by winning the Class 3A 55-meter race in seven seconds.

Kristen Brown

McDonogh

* Last year, the junior took second in the 55 meters at the IAAM title meet, finished second in the shot put and was third in the long jump to help McDonogh take second.

Kellie Christian

Catonsville

* The senior has developed into one of the area's top sprinters. She took second in the state in the Class 3A 300 meters.

Katie Harman

River Hill

* Harman battled through an injury-hampered cross country season to finish strongly and take second in the Class 2A state meet. The senior also won indoor state titles in the1,600 and 3,200 last winter.

Amanda Kimbers

McDonogh

* Kimbers combines with Brown to the give the Eagles a strong 1-2 punch. She participates in the 55, 300 and long jump and also can run relays. The senior missed last year's title meet with an injury and wants to make up for it.

Maura Linde

Century

* After an outstanding performance in last spring's state track meet, Linde did it again in cross country. Her strong victory in the Class 2A state title meet helped Century to second place, just one point behind River Hill.

Alyssa McClure

Digital Harbor

* McClure won the 55 and 300 in last year's Baltimore City, regional and Class 1A state meets. The junior keeps getting better each year and is a major reason the Rams will be a force again.

Rachel Pillion

Towson

* She led the Generals to the Baltimore County and Class 3A state titles in cross country, and the senior will help make Towson a threat to win more championships this winter.

Elizabeth Tauber

John Carroll

* The sophomore surprised many with her strong cross country season, but Tauber won't sneak up on anyone this winter. She won the MIAA A Conference title and will be the runner to beat indoors.

Becky Yep

Mount Hebron

* The junior had a breakout season in cross country this fall. Yep should be able to accumulate plenty of points for an already good Mount Hebron team.
