Z ON TV

It would be hard to find a better lineup of celebrity performers or a bigger TV event tonight than the second annual CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute that honors ordinary people who have achieved extraordinary accomplishments in their communities and beyond.

The program, which is hosted by CNN anchor Anderson Cooper from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, will be broadcast to a global audience starting tonight at 9. Alicia Keys and John Legend headline the performers.

During the show, CNN will honor 10 heroes and reveal the CNN Hero of the Year, who will receive an additional $100,000. (9 p.m., CNN)

THANKSGIVING WITH OLD FRIENDS There is no better way to spend the holiday in my book than with classic sitcom celebrations of the event. TBS has four Thanksgiving episodes of Friends including "The One Where Ross Gets High." (6:30 p.m., TBS) *** 1/2

For slightly older viewers, WGN has Thanksgiving with Newhart. If you only have time for one episode, try "Don't Rain on My Parade" with Dick (Newhart) inviting everyone to the Stratford Inn for the holiday. (8 p.m., WGN) *** 1/2

LATE-NIGHT GUESTS Denis Leary visits Late Show with David Letterman. Michelle Obama and Chris Rock visit The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
