Paul Harris had 18 points and 11 rebounds, Jonny Flynn scored 18 points and Syracuse beat No. 17 Florida, 89-83, last night in the semifinals of the CBE Classic in Kansas City, Mo.

Syracuse (4-0) shot 51 percent from the field and had 19 assists on 31 field goals, taking control with a big run early in the second half. Andy Rautins hit five three-pointers and had 15 points - all in the first half. Arinze Onuaku added 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Kris Joseph had 10 points for the Orange. Syracuse will face No. 22 Kansas tonight in the championship game of a tournament that features four of the past six NCAA champions. Alex Tyus finished with a career-best 24 points on 11-for-14 shooting, and Nick Calathes had 19 points for the Gators (3-1).

NO. 2 CONNECTICUT 76, NO. 25 WISCONSIN 57: : Jerome Dyson scored 21 points and the Huskies (5-0) beat the Badgers (4-1) for the Paradise Jam championship in Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands. Hasheem Thabeet, who finished with nine points, seven rebounds and three blocks, was the tournament Most Valuable Player. Keaton Nankivil led Wisconsin with 11 points.

NO. 1 NORTH CAROLINA 115, CHAMINADE 70: : Senior Danny Green scored a career-high 26 points and the Tar Heels (4-0), again playing without Tyler Hansbrough, easily beat the host Silverswords (0-1) in the opening round of the EA Sports Maui Invitational at Lahaina, Hawaii.

NO. 6 TEXAS 68, SAINT JOSEPH'S 50: : A.J. Abrams had 17 points and the Longhorns (3-0) turned in another strong defensive effort in the opening round of the Maui Invitational. Ahmad Nivins had 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Hawks (1-2).

NO. 8 NOTRE DAME 88, INDIANA 50: : Tory Jackson scored 21 and Kyle McAlarney added 18 to lead the Fighting Irish (3-0) past the Hoosiers (2-1) in another Maui Invitational game.

NO. 19 WAKE FOREST 62, WINSTON-SALEM STATE 31: : Jeff Teague scored 14 points and the host Demon Deacons (3-0) shook off a sloppy first half against the crosstown Rams (0-3).

NO. 22 KANSAS 73, WASHINGTON 54: : Cole Aldrich had a career-high 16 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked six shots for the Jayhawks (3-0), who defeated the Huskies (2-2) to play Syracuse tonight in the CBE Classic final.

NO. 22 MIAMI 80, SAN DIEGO 45: : Brian Asbury scored 14 points to lead the Hurricanes (4-1) over the Toreros (2-2), taking third place in the Paradise Jam.
