Severn Bancorp announces PPO

Severn Bancorp Inc., parent company of Severn Savings Bank FSB, announced it has successfully completed its private placement offering (PPO) of preferred stock and subordinated notes.

Severn has accepted subscriptions under its PPO in the amount of $7 million in gross capital proceeds and will issue 437,500 shares of Preferred Stock and $3.5 million aggregate principal amount of Subordinated Notes.

Severn is also approved to participate in the U.S. Treasury Capital Purchase Program (CPP).

Severn's application for CPP is approved for approximately $23.5 million.

Holiday events

Marley Station, 7900 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, announces its winter holiday events.

Santa will be available for photos during regular mall hours through Dec. 24 in Center Court.

The Holiday Train Garden, created by Emmanuel Lutheran Church, will be on display on the upper level near Macy's through Dec 31.

Breakfast with Santa will be held 9 a.m., Dec. 6, at Rocky Run Restaurant. Tickets are $6 each and can be purchased at Simon Guest Services.

Santa Paws pet photo night will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 6 in Center Court. Only domestic, leashed animals. Information: 410-760-5990.

Holiday networking lunch

The Central Chesapeake Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America will present a holiday networking luncheon meeting, noon-1:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant, Westfield Annapolis Mall.

The cost is $25 for PRSA members, $30 for nonmembers. Reservations are required by Dec. 4.

'Sip Savor and Shop'

Laurie Forster, The Wine Coach, will host "Sip, Savor and Shop" at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Westin Hotel, 100 Westgate Circle, Annapolis.

This "ladies only" event features a sparkling wine reception with hors d'oeuvres, holiday gifts for shopping, and a seated dinner and discussion on wine pairings and prices. The cost is $79. Reservations are required. Information: www.thewinecoach.com or 410-820-4212.

Breakfast meetings

The BWI Business Partnership will hold its monthly signature breakfast meeting at 7:45 a.m. Dec. 9 at the Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport, 1739 W. Nursery Road in Linthicum.

The Honorable John P. Sarbarnes, Maryland's 3rd District Congressman, will present his views about Capitol Hill.

Lunch at Morton's

Morton's The Steakhouse, 100 Westgate Circle, Annapolis, is offering a la carte holiday lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Dec. 10, Dec. 11, Dec. 12, Dec. 17, Dec. 18, and Dec. 19.

Holiday lunches are available every weekday in December to groups, companies and organizations for private functions and seasonal celebrations. Reservations are required. Information: 410-280-1170.

Shopping locally

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel Conference and Visitors Bureau (AAACCVB) and Baltimore radio station MIX-FM 106.5 has launched a marketing campaign encouraging area residents to support local merchants.

The marketing campaign will use the event from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Westfield Annapolis Mall, Center Court, to highlight shopping, dining, and family-friendly events.
