Community encouraged to take school surveys

Anne Arundel County Public Schools is asking the school community to participate in two surveys that the system hopes will help enhance its partnership with parents and the safety of students.

A Parent Survey will be used to help schools and the school system create family-friendly, welcoming environments.

A Bullying Survey seeks input from parents, staff and students about the pressures students face in school and how schools deal with instances of bullying.

Both surveys can be taken online at www. aacps.org. There is no code required for the Parent Survey. For the Bullying Survey, parents should enter the code "nxp928." Students and staff taking the Bullying Survey can obtain the proper code from their school. Parents without computer access can obtain paper copies of the surveys from their child's school.

Parents can also take both surveys when they attend Parent-Teacher Conferences tomorrow and Tuesday. Deadline for filling out surveys is Dec. 23.
