Milford Mill reigns over Franklin, 23-0

Milford Mill might have had to wait an extra day, but it's on its way to the Class 3A North final.

Using a relentless rushing attack, the Millers took advantage of the sloppy, wet field and dispatched of visiting Franklin, 23-0, yesterday in a game that was originally scheduled for Friday at CCBC-Catonsville but was moved to Woodlawn High School.

Milford Mill (9-2) rushed for 293 yards and received contributions from several players in the win.

Isaiah Brown got things going with a 5-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to give Milford Mill a 7-0 lead. The Millers added touchdowns in the second and third quarters. The Indians (7-4) struggled to move the ball all afternoon.

Aaron Marvin led the team with 82 rushing yards and Brown finished with 71 yards. The Millers will face Hereford in the 3A North final.

CATOCTIN 34, CHESAPEAKE-BC 0: : Sean Chilson scored three touchdowns to power the visiting Cougars past the Bayhawks (7-4) in Class 1A North regional semifinal. After a scoreless first half, Catoctin scored on the second drive of the second half during a 20-point third quarter.

ST. MARY'S 18, ST. PAUL'S 16: : Trey Quinn rushed for two touchdowns to lift the Saints (7-3) over the Crusaders (7-4) in the MIAA B Conference championship game. St. Mary's led 18-10 with six minutes to go when St. Paul's scored a touchdown but failed to convert a two-point play.
