Milford Mill vs. Franklin

WHAT: Class 3A, North regional semifinal

WHEN: Tomorrow, 7 p.m.

WHERE: CCBC-Catonsville

OUTLOOK: Milford (8-2) is eager to put aside last week's loss to Perry Hall and get going in its first trip to the playoffs since 2005. When the teams met last month, the Millers topped the Indians, 13-7, with Ivan Mitchell's 43-yard touchdown off a screen from Kevin Fulton in the fourth quarter making the difference. Franklin (7-3), however, has an equally explosive offense.

FOOTBALL

No. 4 Eastern Tech vs. Poly

WHAT: Class 2A, North regional semifinal

WHEN: Tomorrow, 7 p.m.

WHERE: CCBC-Essex

OUTLOOK: After taking top-ranked River Hill to the brink in last year's Class 2A state final, Eastern Tech looks to kick off its playoff run again. The Mavericks are 10-0, winning by an average score of 42-6. In Poly, however, they will face a 6-4 team that looked every bit the postseason threat in the second half of last week's 16-13 victory over rival City.

FOOTBALL

Reginald Lewis vs. W.E.B. DuBois

WHAT: Class 1A, South regional semifinal

WHEN: Saturday, 6 p.m.

WHERE: Poly

OUTLOOK: This could be the most evenly contested first-round game in the state, pitting a pair of City Division II rivals that share the same school building and have 7-3 records. They also possess two of the city's stingiest defenses, each allowing 10 points per game or fewer. The Falcons picked up a 6-3 win in the first meeting in September.
