Applicants sought to fill a vacancy

The Wilde Lake Village Board is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the 2008-2009 board. The appointee will hold the office through the remainder of the term.

Applications are available at Slayton House in Wilde Lake Village Center. The applications deadline is Jan. 15.

Town Center

The Town Center Community Association will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Historic Oakland, 5430 Vantage Point Road. (The November edition of the community's newsletter, the Center Fold, listed the date incorrectly.)

Craft fair

The Town Center Community Association's Holiday Craft Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 22 at Historic Oakland, 5430 Vantage Point Road.

Free refreshments will be available in the renovated 19th-century manor while shoppers search for gifts at 40 vendor tables.

Admission is free. Donations of nonperishable food item for Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center will be accepted.

Craft shop

The Hickory Ridge Community Association will hold a Holiday Craft Shop from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 23 at The Hawthorn Center, 6175 Sunny Spring.

Handcrafted items will be for sale. Admission is free.

Holiday Tea

Historic Oakland, 5430 Vantage Point Road, will offer a Holiday Tea from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 10 and 17.

The two-course meal, catered by the Tea Trolley, will be served to live music; Kristin Meyer will play the harp on Dec. 10; Chris Dunn will provide guitar music on Dec. 17. Gift baskets and tea items will be available for last-minute shopping.

The cost is $20. Registration is required; space is limited.
