My Best Shot

I live in Baltimore and recently visited Arizona. Ever since I saw, as a child, the John Ford Western film "The Searchers," starring John Wayne, I always wanted to visit Monument Valley, in the Navajo Tribal Park along the Arizona-Utah border, where part of the movie was shot. In September, I finally fulfilled that desire. I was not disappointed. The beauty and majesty of these buttes and rock formations was an unforgettable experience.

The Baltimore Sun welcomes submissions for "My Best Shot."
