Ravens Report Card

QB

C

Joe Flacco threw for one touchdown and ran for another but was inaccurate on several intermediate- to long-range passes. He'll have to play much better if the Ravens are to beat good teams.

OL

B+

The Ravens punished Oakland up front, and they didn't allow a sack. But left tackle Jared Gaither had four penalties and right guard Chris Chester was called twice for holding. The penalties negated some big plays.

WR

C

The Ravens averaged 14.1 yards a catch, but a lot of those yards came after short passes. Three of the top receivers missed extensive playing time last week because of injuries, but they were solid yesterday.

RB

A

Rookie running back Ray Rice has come on in the past two games. He had 64 yards on eight carries and made big plays on two third-down catches. Willis McGahee came close to breaking several long runs.

DL

A

The Ravens took apart Oakland's running game. End Trevor Pryce had three tackles along with tackles Haloti Ngata and Marques Douglas. Reserve tackle Brandon McKinney also played well.

LB

A

Jarret Johnson doesn't get a lot of publicity, but he continues to have a great season. Fellow outside linebacker Terrell Suggs dominated. Inside linebacker Ray Lewis and Bart Scott combined for nine tackles.

DB

B

For a banged-up group, this unit held together well. There didn't seem to be any major communication problems. Most of Oakland's passing yardage came late in the game when the Ravens were playing loose.

ST

B

Jim Leonhard did a good job of returning punts and gave the Ravens good field position. Rice averaged 27 yards on two kickoff returns. Matt Stover hit on two field goals and seems to be back in his groove.
