Fruit sale to benefit music students

The first Marriotts Ridge Music Foundation Citrus Sale will benefit the music students of Marriotts Ridge High School and help fund their trip to attend the Fiesta-Val Music Festival in Gatlinsburg, Tenn.

The sale will feature ruby red grapefruit, navel oranges, tangerines and a variety pack.

The tree-ripened fruit will be delivered to the school in refrigerated trucks. Orders to be picked up Nov. 15 are due by Friday; orders to be picked up Dec. 13 should be submitted by Dec. 2.

Energy workshop

Friendship Church, 1391 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, will sponsor a free Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. workshop on maximizing energy savings to lower utility bills, 10 a.m. Nov. 5 at the church.

Information will be available about billing, budget billing and energy assistance programs. Free gift bags and door prizes will also be available.

Educational maze : Sharp's at Waterford Farm, 4003 Jennings Chapel Road, Brookeville, has a 7-acre educational "A-Maze-ing Corn Maze" for children and adults. The farm also offers free hayrides, a chance to pick pumpkins off the vine, visits with farm animals, and a chance to feed sheep and goats. Visitors can walk along a scenic nature trail, watch observation beehives and visit the farm's museum. Apple and pumpkin butter, jams, salsa, honey, cider and apples, fall decorations and other items will be available in the farm's country store.
