FOOTBALL

St. Mary's @ Archbishop Spalding

WHEN:: Tomorrow, 7 p.m.

OUTLOOK:: The visiting Saints ended Spalding's two-year run as Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference champs last season with a 26-20 win in the title game. The Cavaliers (4-3, 4-1 in league play) are coming off their first league loss in a 24-9 setback to St. Paul's last week that took them out of first. They are looking to make it three titles in four years behind a dominating running game led by Nick Whittles, Jordan Cohill and Nick Kuhl. St. Mary's (4-4) improved to 4-1 in league play with a 21-14 winner over Archbishop Curley last week. The Saints lean on RB Neil Lewnes and WR Mark McNeill. The home-field edge, ability to control the clock and added incentive from last week's loss give the Cavaliers the edge.

FOOTBALL

Broadneck @ No. 6 Old Mill

WHEN:: Saturday, 1 p.m

OUTLOOK:: The host Patriots (6-1) lost for the first time last week, surrendering a fourth-quarter lead to North County in a 22-21 setback. The Bruins rolled past South River, 35-0, behind five forced turnovers and two touchdown throws from quarterback Kyle Colleran. One big play could be the difference, and both teams have plenty of players on both sides of the ball. Old Mill QB Grant Enders is enjoying a fine senior season, and the Bruins have an experienced secondary led by seniors Derrick McGee and Blake Leathers.
