Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown vs. Ravens LB Ray Lewis
Brown can beat you so many ways because he is multitalented, and sometimes he takes the direct snap from center. The Dolphins run a lot of plays out of that formation. Brown has great speed and can change directions quickly. Lewis still has good speed and can run sideline to sideline, but Brown gets to the corner in a hurry. Lewis has to be there, and in good position, to make a play.
Edge: Lewis:
Dolphins OLB Joey Porter vs. Ravens LT Jared Gaither
Porter hates the Ravens, and it goes back to his days with the Steelers. He is the best pass rusher on the team and a versatile performer. Gaither had a learning experience against Colts DE Dwight Freeney last week and held his own. Porter isn't as much of a pass-rushing threat as Freeney, but he has a better all-around game. Gaither has to play smart and use proper technique.
Edge: Porter:
Dolphins OLB Matt Roth vs. Ravens RBs Willis McGahee and Le'Ron McClain
Keep an eye on Roth. He is a converted defensive end who lines up at strong-side linebacker. But the Dolphins like to bring him a lot on passing situations. At 6 feet 4 and 272 pounds, Roth often draws mismatches and dominates running backs in pass protection. The Ravens have to be in good position to take him on and take advantage when he drops into coverage.
