Eden Mill Nature Center offers programs

Eden Mill Nature Center is offering recreation programs for all ages at 1617 Eden Mill Road, Pylesville.

* "Tiny Wonders": for preschoolers ages 2 to 5. Two former teachers will offer stories, music, crafts, movement and drama from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday on "Jack-O-Lantern Smiles." The cost is $8 for members, $6 for member siblings and $10 for nonmembers.

* Honeybee Hive Maintenance: Head beekeeper Cybil Preston will demonstrate and discuss beehive maintenance at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

* Bird Banding will be held from 7 a.m. to noon Friday, weather permitting, at the Joe Vangrin Memorial Pavilion. Call 410-692-5978 to confirm dates.

* "Nature Tots - Busy Beaver": for ages 3 to 5 with an adult, at 10 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. Saturday . Cost is $5 for members and $6 for nonmembers.

* Scarecrows, Pumpkins, and Candy... OH MY!: This autumn family event from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday features trunk-or-treating, scarecrow making, live animals and guided Haunted Mill tours at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. The fee is $1 for members and $3 for nonmembers. Scarecrow stuffing is $5.

* "Introduction to Kayaking" workshops for adults will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 1. Limited kayaks are available. The cost is $70 for members and $80 for nonmembers.
