Open for business: Today is an opening day of sorts at the $500 million Annapolis Towne Centre at Parole mixed-use development. The anchor Target store is among the first of three dozen shops opening by early next year.

Scary stories: Bodies floating near the water treatment plant, an apparition that leaves a bouncing ball as a calling card and a sinister event at the American Legion hall - they're part of the spooky lore shared at the Havre de Grace Haunted History and Ghost Tours, which start this weekend.

Adult videos: The Love Craft adult video store in North Laurel violates zoning laws and must close or move, Howard County officials say, though they expect a prolonged legal battle over the issue. County Executive Ken Ulman directed zoning officials to conduct an inspection after a Baltimore Sun article detailed the different treatment Love Craft and a similar store in Ellicott City had received from the government.

These articles, and more from today's Anne Arundel, Harford and Howard County sections, can be found at baltimoresun.com/maryland.
