No. 6 Perry Hall falls to Franklin

While No. 1 River Hill and No. 3 Dunbar had no trouble last night, rolling to impressive shutouts, the same was not true for No. 6 Perry Hall.

Visiting Franklin used three touchdowns each from Navassa Brown and Carl Fleming to pull off a 45-41 victory.

"It was just one big play after another," Perry Hall coach Keith Robinson said. "Mostly big plays from them."

Brown scored on runs of 51 and 55 yards to end the first half and give the Indians (4-2) the lead for good at 24-20.

Perry Hall, which got four touchdowns from Brandon Sofia, fell to 5-1.

Meanwhile, River Hill (6-0) recorded its third shutout of the season, a 55-0 win over host Reservoir, and Dunbar (5-1) got its first shutout, 56-0, over visiting Carver.

Dunbar's Tavon Austin scored three touchdowns and gained 203 yards.

River Hill's Malek Redd's three rushing and one receiving touchdown smothered the Gators (3-3).

NO. 11 WILDE LAKE 27, HOWARD 13: : The visiting Lions (4-2) made a game of it with the Wildecats, as Mark Covington ran back the opening kickoff 80 yards to stake Howard to a 6-0 lead. But Wilde Lake used two second-half touchdowns by Jarrel Epps to pull away.

NO. 12 JOPPATOWNE 41, BEL AIR 0: : The Mariners (3-3) spread the scoring around, but junior tailback Epe Henriques rushed for 128 yards on 15 carries and one touchdown.

BANKS 20, POOLESVILLE 0:: Davon Gray rushed for one touchdown and threw for another as the host Lions (2-3) shut out the Falcons (0-5).

CHESAPEAKE-BC 45, OWINGS MILLS 12: : The Bayhawks improved to 4-2 with a victory over host Owings Mills (0-6).

CITY 28, LAKE CLIFTON 18: : Adrian Coxson's two touchdowns, including a 50-yard punt return and a 30-yard pass play from quarterback Ellis Foster, helped City (4-2) beat Lake Clifton (3-3).

ARCHBISHOP CURLEY 49, ST. VINCENT PALLOTTI 6:: Running backs Terrence Dandrige, Pat Diamond, Aaron Hatton, Jerrell Nunnally and Demonya Womach scored touchdowns for the Friars (5-2).

FALLSTON 35, NORTH HARFORD 7: : Fallston scored 21 points on just six plays and leads its Upper Chesapeake Bay Conference with a 3-0 record and is 4-2 overall.

HAVRE DE GRACE 19, ABERDEEN 13:: Havre de Grace improved to 6-0. Aberdeen, meanwhile, falls to 3-3 and coach John Siemsen said the playoff outlook is dim.

MERVO 20, PATTERSON 8:: Keyrre Grant had two touchdown runs in the fourth quarter to lift the Mustangs (3-3) over the visiting Clippers (3-3).

ST. PAUL'S 37, JOHN CARROLL 14:: Troy Jones, 10-for-18 for 116 yards, passing TDs and four rushing, powered the host Crusaders (4-2) past the Patriots (3-3).

SPARROWS POINT 31, WESTERN TECH 28: : Trailing 28-23, Storm Neidinger had a 5-yard touchdown run and a two-point conversion to lift the host Pointers (4-2) over the Wolverines (2-4).

WALBROOK 26, SOUTHWESTERN 0: : Quarterback Marcus Nickens was 10-for-15 passing for 230 yards and two touchdowns as the visiting Warriors (2-4) won a Baltimore City contest.

DU BOIS 17 SOUTHSIDE 0: : A 38-yard field goal from Gabriel Nieba before the half got things going for the Panthers (4-2).
