Teen gets 30 years in fatal shooting
A Baltimore teenager was sentenced to 30 years in prison yesterday for fatally shooting another teen after a fight last year, the city state's attorney's office said. Tevin Moultrie, 17, of the 1600 block of Cliftview Ave., was also sentenced to 20 years for the use of a handgun in a crime of violence and one year each on two counts of reckless endangerment, all to be served concurrently. Moultrie pleaded guilty in March to shooting Steven Washington, 17, in the 1600 block of Cliftview Ave. after an altercation on March 13, 2007. The victim died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Registered sex offender charged with rape
A registered sex offender has been arrested and charged in the rape last month of a 14-year-old girl in Reservoir Hill. Court documents allege that Bruce Stanley Jones, 39, grabbed the girl from behind as she walked home from school Sept. 18 and took her to a nearby apartment building and raped her. Jones, who pleaded guilty to a third-degree sex offense in Baltimore County in 2002, was convicted last year of failing to register as a sex offender and failing to register his current address. He has been charged with second-degree rape, second- and third-degree sex offense, and second-degree assault. He was arrested Oct. 1 and is being held without bail.

Police search for suspects in shooting
Two 20-year-old men were shot late Tuesday while standing outside a bar in Chase, Baltimore County, police said yesterday. The men were waiting for an order of food at the Oliver Beach Inn in the 12900 block of Eastern Ave. when someone in a vehicle fired several shots, hitting both victims, police said. One of the men was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was in fair condition, and the other went to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and was in good condition, said Cpl. Jessup man charged with manslaughter, assault
Howard County police have charged a 22-year-old man with manslaughter in connection with a shooting last month that left a teenage boy dead. Kenneth Ryan Bowser of Jessup was charged Tuesday with manslaughter, assault and reckless endangerment. At about 9:20 p.m. Sept. 10, police arrived at Bowser's home after a report of a single gunshot fired. Police found 17-year-old Michael Joseph Mullinax dead. Bowser told police that the two began wrestling over a 9 mm handgun and Mullinax was shot, according to charging documents. A judge set Bowser's bond at $10,000, according to the Howard County state's attorney's office.
