Upper Chesapeake Health has opened its newest addition to the Bel Air campus with an 84,000-square-foot outpatient facility developed and leased through a joint venture of MacKenzie Corp. and Kinsley Construction.
Physicians Pavilion II is on the fourth and fifth floors of the recently completed garage building next to the Ambulatory Care Center at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Outpatient-based services will be on the fifth floor.
The new outpatient area is designed to accommodate more than 25,500 estimated visits per year.
The opening of the pavilion completes a $39 million expansion at the medical center that began in 2006. The project included renovations to the emergency department from 33 to 47 treatment beds; a new critical care unit; five additional obstetric beds; 26 additional medical/surgical beds; and a parking garage and comprehensive outpatient services.
Patients can easily access the fifth-floor services from the garage elevator or the ground-floor entrance. A skywalk connects the pavilion to the fourth floor of the Ambulatory Care Center.
The following outpatient services will be in the new pavilion: Anticoagulation Services for individuals who have been prescribed oral anticoagulation medication; Center for Cancer Services; the Diabetes & Endocrine Center providing multidisciplinary medical and educational services to people with diabetes and other endocrine disorders; Infusion Center, specializing in blood transfusions and intravenous treatments; Lipid Management for individuals who have been prescribed cholesterol-lowering medications; and Rehab Services.
