Boat shows slated for two weekends this month
The 39th annual U.S. Sailboat Show will be held Thursday through Sunday and the 37th Annual U.S. Powerboat Show will be held Oct. 16 to 19, both at City Dock in Annapolis, United States Yacht Shows announced.
A VIP event is scheduled for the Thursday of the week of each show.
Admission is $35 for the VIP Press/Trade Day events held on Oct. 9 and Oct. 16. Admission is $16 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under for Friday through Sunday events.

Bay Foundation offers oyster workshops
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation will offer "Oyster Gardening" workshops, lessons on how to grow oysters, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday , and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 18 and Oct. 25 at 6 Herndon Ave., Annapolis. There is a first-time workshop fee of $75. Advance registration is required.
