A man was killed yesterday when a car at a Curtis Bay auto salvage yard collapsed on him. The man's identity was withheld pending notification of family members, said Agent Donny Moses, a police spokesman. Shortly after noon, two people were looking for parts from vehicles at Crazy Ray's Auto Salvage in the 2800 block of Hawkins Point Road when they observed a man lying under a 1995 Acura that had fallen when a jack he was using to lift the vehicle collapsed, Moses said. The man had been attempting to steal a catalytic converter, police said. Moses said the crew of a city Fire Department ambulance pronounced the man dead at the scene. He said police found tools at the scene that the man was using to remove the part and said the man's death has been ruled an accident.

Ramp and lane closings at Route 100 and I-97
The State Highway Administration will conduct a series of ramp and lane closings around the interchange of Route 100 and Interstate 97 in Anne Arundel County tonight and tomorrow. The closings are part of a project intended to improve traffic flow and reduce unsafe weaving at the interchange, which lies on one of the main routes between Baltimore and Annapolis. The northbound and southbound I-97 ramps to eastbound Route 100, as well as the through lanes of eastbound Route 100 just east of the interchange, will be closed about 9 tonight and are expected to reopen about noon tomorrow.
