FIELD HOCKEY

No. 9 Towson @No. 12 Hereford

WHEN: Tomorrow, 3:45 p.m.

OUTLOOK: Just about every game between these Baltimore County rivals is a big one. Both were unbeaten in county competition coming into this week, and this game could easily have county championship ramifications. Both are in Class 3A North, so they could meet three times this season. Since 1999, they have met three times in the county final - the most recent, in 2005, ended in a tie - and four times in the regional final.

THE BALTIMORE SUN'S PICK: Towson

FOOTBALL

No. 12 McDonogh @No. 2 Loyola

WHEN: Saturday, 2:30 p.m.

OUTLOOK: Emotions will be high for Loyola (5-0), which will be playing its first home game since kicker Dennis Woolford died in a car accident. Last week, shortly after getting the news, the Dons, led by All-Metro QB Leon Kinnard, beat Archbishop Curley, 41-0. They have outscored opponents 226-21 this season. McDonogh (2-2) will find it tough to get back on track after losses to Landon (Bethesda) and Malvern Prep (Pa.).

THE BALTIMORE SUN'S PICK: Loyola

City vs. No. 3 Dunbar

WHEN: Saturday, 6 p.m.

WHERE: Poly

OUTLOOK: The Knights (3-1) and Poets (3-1) meet for sole possession of first place in Baltimore City's Division I. Record-setting RB Tavon Austin leads Dunbar's high-powered offense, which has scored more than 38 points a game. It will battle City's stingy defense, which has allowed just six points over the past three weeks. The Poets will be shooting for their 18th straight win against a city opponent.
