Woman, 62, assaulted, robbed at Westfield mall

Police were searching for a man who robbed a woman Monday outside Westfield Annapolis mall, according to police.

A 62-year-old woman told police she was putting merchandise into the trunk of her car just before 1 p.m. outside Nordstrom when someone approached and struck her in the head with a heavy object and she fell, county police said.

The robber fled with a laptop computer, an iPod and jewelry, police said. The man was last seen leaving the parking garage area and walking around the north corner of Nordstrom. The victim was treated at Anne Arundel Medical Center and released, police said.

Man arrested after vehicle hits two cars and a mailbox

A man was found slumped over the steering wheel of his truck after he struck two parked cars and a mailbox on Parole Street and drove off, Annapolis police said.

About 6:45 a.m. Saturday, a woman in the first block of Parole St. heard a loud noise and saw that a red Ford truck had struck her mailbox and had not stopped, police said.

The woman followed the truck and discovered it on Center Street with the driver slumped over the wheel, police said.

Neptali Dominguez-Martinez, 36, of Porter Drive was charged with a hit-and-run, driving under the influence of alcohol and other related charges, police said.

Man charged with attempted auto theft

A man was charged with attempted auto theft after a vehicle owner saw three people in his car and then chased one of them down, Annapolis police said.

A 25-year-old Baywater Lane resident was visiting in the 200 block of Hilltop Lane about 3 a.m. Saturday when he saw three males inside his 1994 Honda Accord, police said. The man and his friends confronted the people in the car, and they ran. The victim and his friends caught one man and held him until police arrived.

The car had been broken into, and the car stereo had been removed and the ignition was tampered with, police said. Alfredo Jose Leon, 24, of New Carrolton was arrested and charged with attempted auto theft, theft and other offenses, police said. The investigation was continuing.

Woman, 40, hospitalized with stab wounds

A woman was stabbed while interrupting an argument involving her daughter Saturday night in Annapolis, police said.

Officers called about 11:30 p.m. to the 1300 block of Tanook Court found that a 40-year-old woman had interrupted an argument between her daughter and a man. The woman was stabbed in the torso and was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment, police said.

Levorie Tann, 37, of Jacksonville, Fla., was charged with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, police said.
