Ben Roethlisberger completed two third-down passes to set up a 49-yard field goal by Jeff Reed on the Steelers' opening drive. After a second straight three-and-out series, the Ravens got a break when Roethlisberger threw a pass right to defensive tackle Haloti Ngata for an interception. The Ravens reached the Pittsburgh 15-yard line before they settled for a 33-yard field goal by Matt Stover.

The Ravens scored 10 points in the final 3:48 of the quarter to go up 13-3 at halftime. They went 48 yards to the Pittsburgh 2 to set up a 20-yard field goal by Stover. They then went 44 yards, culminated by Joe Flacco's first NFL touchdown pass, a 4-yard flip to Daniel Wilcox out of their jumbo offensive formation.

Steelers 17 Ravens

The Steelers turned the game on two touchdowns within 15 seconds during the third quarter to take a 17-13 lead. An unnecessary roughness penalty against Jarret Johnson set up a 38-yard touchdown pass from Roethlisberger to Santonio Holmes that cut the Ravens' lead to 13-10. Moments later, Pittsburgh's James Harrison sacked Flacco and forced a fumble that LaMarr Woodley returned 7 yards for a touchdown and the lead.

Ravens

20 Steelers 20

A 19-yard field goal by Reed put the Steelers ahead 20-13 after Ray Lewis denied a touchdown by stopping Mewelde Moore at the 1. Flacco answered with a 76-yard scoring drive that featured a 35-yard pass to Derrick Mason. That play set up a 2-yard touchdown run by Le'Ron McClain and a tie at 20.

A 24-yard, third-down dump pass from Roethlisberger to Moore against the blitz put the Steelers in Ravens territory at the 31. Reed's 46-yard field goal just got inside the left upright to win the game.
