The restored 19th-century cemetery, owned by the Friends of the Whipps Cemetery and Memorial Gardens Inc., is now a public garden-park. A small rustic outdoor theater was built in 2007 by Boy Scout Troop 1997.

Maintenance of the site is by volunteers, primarily master gardeners, and two Howard county garden clubs. The site is also supported by the St. John's Community Association Inc. and neighbors' donations.

Information: Barbara Sieg, 410-465-6721. Reservations are requested by Oct. 8.
