On Wednesday, September 10, 2008, PAUL FRANCIS WOODEN, 92, died at Blakehurst Retirement Community, Towson, MD. He was born to Ernest Elmer Wooden and Lois (Benson) Wooden on February 9, 1916 in Woodensburg, MD. He was a retired Accountant and Attorney. A member of Glyndon United Methodist Church, Glyndon, MD. Served in the Army during WWII. Former managing partner of Wooden and Benson, CPA, former Chairman of the Board of the Better Business Bureau, Past President and Chairman of the Board of Farmers and Merchants Bank, Rotary Club of Baltimore, Pine Branch Golf Club. Predeceased by his parents Ernest Elmer Wooden and Lois (Benson) Wooden and 1st wife Irina (Reyda) Wooden. Survived by wife, Peggie Patton Wooden; son, Paul F. Wooden, Jr., and wife Debbie; daughters, Irina Heisey and husband Jim, Margaret Abbott and husband Dean, Kathi Dalton and husband Conrad, M.D., and Leonor Howton and husband Jimmy; sister, Virginia Smith and brother Gilbert Benson numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will host an open buffett luncheon at Blakehurst Retirement Community, 1055 W. Joppa Road, Towson, MD, 21204 on Saturday from 11 A.M to 1 P.M. Funeral service Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 2 P.M., at Glyndon United Methodist Church, 4713 Butler Road, Glyndon. Pastor Norman Obenshain officiating. Interment Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Upperco, MD. In addition, following the service the family will also receive friends at the home of Paul and Debbie Wooden from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glyndon U.M. Church, 4713 Butler Road, Glyndon, MD, 21071 or Ernest E. Wooden Educational Fund Inc., c/o Farmers & Merchant Bank, 15226 Hanover Pike, Upperco, MD, 21155.
