If you didn't get enough last night of ABC News anchorman Charles Gibson's interview with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the network has a cycle of coverage today worthy of a 24/7 cable news channel. Segments of the interview will be shown on Good Morning America, on at 7 a.m.; World News, which begins at 6:30 p.m.; and 20/20, which starts at 10 p.m.

GOLDEN SATURDAY As hard as it might be to conceive of a TV event this weekend bigger than Olympics star Michael Phelps making his acting debut as host of NBC's Saturday Night Live, I suspect there might be even more anticipation as to if and how the comedy troupe will deal with GOP vice presidential candidate Palin. Will it satirize the newest political star? If so, who will play her? Tina Fey, an alumna of the show who produces and stars in the NBC's hit sitcom 30 Rock, seems like a natural because of her looks if nothing else.

Between Phelps and the potential Palin factor, it should be one of the highest-rated season premieres in a long time for NBC. (11:29 p.m. tomorrow, NBC).

HYPED-UP SUNDAY Fox is packaging previews of a couple of buzzed-up productions with an encore of Fringe Sunday night in an effort to generate some new-season excitement. Scenes from the film The Day the Earth Stood Still and 24: Redemption, a two-hour episode of the terrorist thriller scheduled for November, will be shown (8 p.m., Fox)

Tonight's late-night guests Actress Meg Ryan visits the Late Show with David Letterman. Actor Hugh Laurie appears on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
