Two people were charged with robbery and other offenses after a woman reported that her purse was stolen after she was hit by a car, county police said.

Officers were called about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to Old Stage Road near Quarterfield Road in Glen Burnie for a report of a hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian.

A 41-year-old woman told police that she was struck by a burgundy Chevrolet Avalanche, and that someone in the vehicle had stolen her purse.

The woman was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.

The woman said she knew one of the suspects by the person's first name and another by the person's nickname.

Police identified the suspects as Melissa Boening, 21, and Joseph Hackman, 25, both of Baltimore.

Charges were pending against a third suspect, police said.
