* Centennial, hitter

* The sophomore will be counted on to provide some of the power for the Eagles' potent, senior-led offense.

Katy Buck

* Mount De Sales, hitter

* A standout on a senior-dominated team, the junior's consistency at the net is one of the keys to the Sailors' bid to win the IAAM A Conference.

Andrea Catucci

* Archbishop Spalding, setter

* An All-IAAM A Conference selection last year as a junior, Catucci is the key to making the Cavaliers' offense click.

Tiffany Jacobson

* Reservoir, setter

* She anchored the Gators' defense last year as a sophomore and helped lead the team to its first state title. With several top players having graduated, Jacobson will need to assume a leadership role.

Christi Laite

* Severna Park, hitter

* The junior leads the front row for the defending Anne Arundel County champion Falcons.

Theo Matthai

* Bryn Mawr, hitter

* A three-year varsity player, the junior will be counted on to help ease the transition for the Mawrtians from the IAAM B Conference up to the A Conference.

Becky Paynter

* River Hill, setter

* A steadying influence for the Class 2A state semifinalists last year, the senior will be called upon to play a bigger role in the offense this season.

Kourtney Salvarola

* Broadneck, hitter

* She showed flashes of how good she can be at the state tournament last year as a sophomore, helping the Bruins win the Class 4A state title.

Bailey Webster

* St. Paul's, hitter

* The Gatorade Player of the Year for Maryland last season as a junior, Webster is one of the most-recruited players in the country. She played for United States junior national team this summer.

Lindsay Will

* South Carroll, hitter

* The Cavaliers came out of nowhere to win the Class 1A state title, and Will, now a senior, was a major reason why.
