Banking and finance

* Provident Bank announced the appointments of Lowell Yoder, Greater Washington commercial banking; Michelle Denoncourt, consumer banking, Baltimore north region; Joseph Borkowicz, direct banking division; and Andy Snyder, emerging businesses division, as senior vice presidents of the Baltimore-based regional bank.


* Laureate Higher Education Group appointed Linda J. Leftrict as chief marketing officer for the Baltimore-based network of online universities. She is responsible for global marketing and brand marketing for its online schools.

* Stevenson University, formerly Villa Julie College, named Elizabeth Fitzgerald and Morgan Somerville as assistant directors of admissions, Christie Sleeth as receptionist/administrative assistant to the president and Viralkumar Patel as a technology support specialist for the co-educational undergraduate school.

Health care

* Charlestown Retirement Community said Vera Ballard joined the Catonsville-based company as personal moving consultant.

Legal and insurance

* Gallagher Evelius & Jones LLP admitted Hillary A. Hussin to the Baltimore law firm as an associate in its litigation practice. She was formerly with the firm of Roger Towers PA of Jacksonville, Fla.


* United Cerebral Palsy of Central Maryland named Purcell Wylie to a seat on the organization's board of directors. He is the owner of The Purcell Wylie Co., an accounting firm.


* Sanders Diamond Jewelers named Enrique Marroquin to the staff of the Pasadena-based firm. Formerly with Cartier and having worked for the Spanish royal family, he designs, fabricates and manufactures fine jewelry.
